Our Philosophy
The Winder First United Methodist Church
Preschool, since it's inception in 1956, has been an outreach program of the
church. Our philosophy for preschool education is based on the recognition
that the finest in early childhood education occurs in an environment of
love and support. The preschool ministry offers a loving Christian
environment in which to grow. The development of your child as a whole is
our primary goal.
Purpose
At Winder First United Methodist Church, we will provide a
Christ-centered atmosphere where children will know that God loves them, and
they will experience a variety of opportunities which will develop a firm
foundation for future learning. We respect and welcome children of all
faiths. Our preschool encourages the development of the whole child -
spiritual, social, intellectual, physical, and emotional.
Our Pledge to You
As you place your child into our care, be well assured that we will do
our very best to nurture, and teach your child, while treating him or her
with love and respect. We pledge to you to give our best, and provide an
outstanding program, designed to help prepare your child for his or her
school years.
About our Teachers
We are blessed with teachers who love God, and who are dedicated to
loving and teaching children. Our teachers are members of the National and
Georgia Preschool Association, and participate in continuing education
courses.
Our teachers are CPR certified. As new opportunities become available, other
continuing education courses and resources are offered.
Yearly Schedule
We generally follow the Barrow County School calendar with the exception
of the beginning of school, the end of school, and weather makeup days. We
will be closed if Barrow County Schools are closed or delayed.
